On the plus side, I was able to watch all of Django Unchained last night. It came at the cost of being extremely tired all night but who is counting? I wish I could say that this post today would be long and lengthy, but today was just another school day. Apparently I needed to submit a form to ask for permission to travel, which I did do. I don’t quite understand why I would need permission to travel with MY host district. I don’t quite understand the chain of command here, so maybe I will look into it before I really start getting confused/frustrated.
This past weekend, I went hiking in the mountains of Banska Bystrica. While I was up and in the mountains, I found an abandoned building, which I know nothing about. Now I was thinking of how I could take advantage the ease of access of this building, and an idea came to me. I should do a video where I explore the building and the possible bunkers next to it. I really savored the idea, until I looked at some of the other video that I had taken on my camera (Sony Alpha A6000 ), and it was very shaky and nauseating. I am not really sure what I should do here, but I have thought of a few solutions. One of these solutions was going to the local Datart (like Best Buy), and buying a cheap GoPro knockoff for >$100, and using that with the combination of a selfie stick to decrease the motion? Or should I try buying one of those maneuverable camera tripods and use that on my A6000? I am going to sleep on it and consider it next week.
After school today, I went to the mall to grab some lunch when a classmate-ish came up to me and started talking with me. The reason I say ish is because I shadowed another class besides my own (II.D), and he was my classmate for that day. Anyway, I know I have said this before in this post, but Slovak people are really genuine. I don’t know if it was the language barrier that made him seem so wholesome and honest, but while I was talking to him I really felt that what he was telling me was coming from the bottom of his heart.
That’s all for me today, fairly short but I should be able to make it up tomorrow. Anyway, today’s word of the day is:
čierna – black
Pronounced like chierna. I asked a friend to think of a word and this was the first thing that came to mind. I didn’t ask any questions after.
