Slovakia Update #82 – Slow

I find it a little difficult to write on days like today, but I am going to have to try my best. What do you mean Alex? What is today like? Well, today was just a normal day that’s what: I went to school, I went to my Slovak lessons, I went to my Rotary meeting, and now I am here. Of course, there is always something that I can complain about, so don’t worry. That is the one thing that I am good at (my mom can confirm), is complain. Whether that is a good trait or not is up for you to decide, but either way, it allows for me to have content on this site.

I just wrote about 4 paragraphs on an argument I was having with someone, and then proceed to delete all of it because I was too frustrated the person I was arguing with. It is alright to be stubborn, but when you act like a brick wall with no compromise, then it really shows your immaturity. In the end, I privately told the person that I didn’t want to argue with them, and that I just wanted to be cool. And surprisingly he took it well, so I am going to have to see how that goes. Moral of the story is: when in an argument with someone, it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong, sometimes it is needed to take a step back and consider the relationship you might be breaking by getting into such a heated debate.

Today’s word of the day is

som bol – I went

At least, that’s what I think it says. I have only ever heard it and said it.
