Slovakia Update #73 – Chinese Food & Christmas Market Tease

Procrastination is something that I strive at. Wait, that’s not the word I want to use. I know, I excel in the art of delaying a task to the last moment to allow other tasks to be done beforehand. Today is no exception, right now even. I have multiple reports I need to submit, work to do for my blog, and other small chores that I have been putting off, yet I have probably watched this video twenty times in the last hour. Oh well, here I am now, so let me do a bit of explaining.

I woke up this morning actually feeling fairly motivated. Well, I did the second time I woke up anyway. I woke up at 5 in the morning, got out of bed, took a shower, and then went back to bed. Or at least that is what I think I did, I don’t have any recollection of it other than I remember it was 5:08 when I crawled back into bed. Being tired does strange things to you. But, the second time I woke up, I was ready for the day, feeling refreshed and clean.

After school today, I met up with Ashley, and we went to a cafe. At the cafe we ordered drinks, and we read our own books for a few hours. I was actually a little passively upset about this, because I was reading away my ever so thinning book resources! Just kidding, it was nice to sit down and read in a positive environment. After we had drank our fill, and we hungry enough to grab some food, Ashley suggested a Chinese buffet? I wasn’t sure quite why she wanted to go there of all places, but who was I to argue. If I am being perfectly honest, the food was marginal at best, and felt greasy and gross all the way down. We won’t be making the mistake of going there again.

The Christmas market was finally opening up in the town square, but unfortunately for me I was overstuffed on Chinese orange chicken, so I couldn’t imagine eating another bite. I am going to have to go back sometime this week to try out the fantastic christmas food that I could smell cooking in the stalls.

As I mentioned before, I have a few reports that I have to get done for Rotary, mostly concerning my stay here. Nothing that seems too serious, but it does need to get done. Of course, I am probably going to put it off until 1 in the morning, but that will be our little secret. Anyway, today’s word of the day is:

hodina – hour

Pronounced like hodina in English, you use this when asking the time as well.
