I love the fact that spring is here. You look around, everything is green and flourishing. The earth is happy and ready to party for the next 4~6 months. I took advantage of that today and decided to get a pair of inline skates and ride around in a park.
After an early release from school, I made a beeline to the local sporting goods store. After some discussion with the store clerk, I decided on a pair. Bubbling with anticipation, I barely made it to the park before I had my converse off and my new skates on. I soon found out that skating is much more difficult and tiring than the pros zooming around the concrete rink make it look to be. But after some practice, I was able to get around a few times without making a fool of myself. I tried to skate home, but unfortunately the state of the Slovak sidewalks is either abysmal or non existent, so I decided to walk it.
I love it when the sun is shining and the weather is fair. I never really believed in the whole “the sun gives you energy” fade before, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that it is a real thing. My motivation on days when all you can see is grey is virtually nothing, whilst my motivation on days like today where the sun is out, the birds are chirping, and everything is nice is a million times higher. I guess the only real downside is that I am getting sunburned more often than not now. I guess that is what happens when you hardly see the sun for 4 months.
This weekend I will be visiting the city of Trnava, which is claimed to be the “Rome of Slovakia”. To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of this place before, and I wasn’t too enthusiastic when I was told I would have to sacrifice my weekend for this. But, I will try to visit the city with an open mind, and experience the city to its fullest. I hope it will be fun, as the weekends are a time that I value extremely high.
That’s all for today!
